Distractions while driving are essentially built into the whole experience. That being said, it doesn't have to be something that you allow yourself to be consumed by. You can and should reduce and eliminate these concerns right away.

Look for ways to drive when you are not drowsy or stressed if at all possible. Avoid things like eating in your car or brushing your hair. Again, it seems like these are just time-saving parts of your routine, but time will not be saved if you have to stop everything because you get yourself into an accident. Avoid that scenario by taking care of those activities at home.

Your phone is probably the biggest problem area (at least for most people). Leave it locked up somewhere in your car. You may need it in an emergency, but short of that you just don't need it. Don't let it become a distraction to you.
